Benefits of All-On-3 Trefoil SystemGlendale, AZ
At Arrowhead Ranch Dentistry, we strive to create a professional and efficient experience for our patients. From the moment patients walk in the door to any necessary follow-up appointments, we will help patients to maintain healthy and fully-functional teeth. Thus, we search for the new and advanced technology to enhance our treatment for patients.
When it comes to replacing missing teeth, many patients want a sturdy solution that will last a long time. Fortunately, we offer that solution in the form of the Trefoil® system. Patients who wear any form of prosthesis understand how difficult life is when the prosthesis does not remain still. Due to this, many people spend more time and money on adjustments and the overall procedure. With the Trefoil system, there are multiple benefits for patients.
Benefits of the Trefoil System
A permanent solution
The Trefoil system is a permanent solution that will not fall out when a person laughs or become loose. By inserting three titanium implants into the jawbone, the bar that artificial teeth attach to will remain sturdy in the mouth. Patients will be able to enjoy their favorite foods and beverages without worrying about causing any issues for the implants.
More efficient process
This product uses a more efficient process that will work faster than other options that some people use. In many cases, professionals are able to complete the entire process in one day.
Trefoil is adaptable and customizable
The pre-manufactured framework of the Trefoil system is adjustable thanks to the adaptive joints. This means that we can alter the device to fit the needs of the patient’s jaw for the ideal position of the implant.
When the jawbone does not receive stimulation in the gaps of missing teeth, the body will take the calcium from the jaw and distribute to other areas of the body. This process will cause the cheek to sink into the face, providing a haggard appearance. By having an implant in the jaw to stimulate the jawbone, the body will not leach calcium and allow the jaw to maintain the original shape.
While there are more benefits to the Trefoil system, many patients still have questions about the product and the overall procedure. Here are a few of the questions people ask us and the answers to them.
How is the procedure different from All-On-4® and other treatment options?
The Trefoil system uses only three implants instead of four and a pre-manufactured bar that allows us to complete the process much more quickly than other treatment options. Along with efficiency, this system is much sturdier than removable dentures.
What will happen after placing the implants in the jaw?
After placing the implants in the jaw, we will usually attach the titanium bar. In some cases, the procedure will only take one day. If the patient needs time to adjust before placing the teeth, then we will help map out the process for the patient.
Can I eat and drink what I want?
Yes. This system provides sturdy implants that will not get in the way of one’s diet. That being said, patients need to be careful about eating specific foods such as biting on a jawbreaker or something equally hard.
What is the cost?
While dental insurance can change the rates, Trefoil is a cost-effective solution for patients. We will be happy to go over the cost in greater details during a consultation appointment.
Will the procedure hurt?
In many cases, the patient may experience soreness after the procedure. However, the soreness will not last too long and is treatable with over-the-counter pain medication.
Besides pain medication, what else can I do to relieve the soreness?
Patients may also find relief in eating soft foods that are easy to chew. However, the pain should not last long enough to be a real issue.
What should I do if the pain does not go away?
If the soreness gets worse, there is bleeding or any other issues that continue, give us a call as soon as possible. While we take every precaution, it is important to keep an eye on things.
How long will the procedure take?
The length of the entire procedure will vary on a few factors from the patient’s condition, preference of the clinician and the cooperation with the dental lab. However, some patients will complete the entire Trefoil process in about six hours.
